Distinguished lecturers and panelists at the HTA and Innovative Technologies Forum

Québec, September 25, 2013 – The HTA and Innovative Technologies Forum will take place on December 3, 2013, in Québec, with the theme “Better Innovation Through Assessment.” The Forum is being held as part of Health Innovation Week, organized together by the Institut national d’excellence en santé et en services sociaux (INESSS) and Québec International.

Addressing the challenges
Innovative technologies aim to enhance the quality of care and services, but their introduction presents a challenge to the sustainability of the health system and the principle of fairness this system is based on. Through the HTA and Innovative Technologies Forum, INESSS hopes to address these challenges and arrive at tangible solutions.

Distinguished guests
For the Forum to be a collaborative and participatory event, INESSS has planned an exciting program with recognized lecturers and panelists.

INESSS is proud to announce that Dr. Réjean Hébert, Minister of Health and Social Services and Minister responsible for Seniors, will be delivering the closing speech. The Forum is also pleased to welcome as a keynote speaker Mr. François Meyer, who currently serves the French National Authority for Health (HAS, Haute Autorité de Santé) as Advisor to the President, International Affairs.

The Forum will also host esteemed panelists Juan Roberto Iglesias, President and CEO of INESSS; Diane Côté, President and CEO of MEDTEQ, Marc Rhainds, Medical and Scientific Co-Manager of the HTA unit at the CHU de Québec; Alain Boisvert, Vice-President Market Access and Public Affairs at Bristol-Myers Squibb Canada; Gaétan Barrette, President of the Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FMSQ); Teresa Mattarelli, Vice-President and General Manager of Covidien Canada; Paul Lirette, President of GlaxoSmithKline; and Luc Castonguay, Assistant Deputy Minister for the Direction générale de la planification, de la performance et de la qualité, Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux.
